10 years since our first ever project

There’s been a lot of reflection on the internet over the past few weeks with social feeds full of people participating in the #10YearChallenge.  If you've managed to escape it, the premise is simple:  compare a photo of yourself from 2009 with one from 2019 and see how much you’ve changed.

Well, it just so happens that it’s been ten years since our very first project so we're jumping on the bandwagon!  Here's what's changed...

Two market leaders became one...

Meaning our team has grown quite a bit...

SHP-10-years

Allowing us to successfully deliver projects across the UK where we now supply our finger guards to over 80% of Local Education Authorities...

There's also a noticeable difference in the look of our products.  The 2009 image below is from one of our very first school projects for which we supplied our
integral finger guards (Alumax).  Back then, Alumax was only available in Satin Anodised Aluminium and was seen to be an Education-focused product.

Ten years on, Alumax is now also available in a wide range of RAL colours and timber effects.  Not only has the product cemented its market-leading position in the Education market, but its unique combination of form and function has also led to it being found in various other public environments where safety is a priority.

The 2019 image seen above is one taken in the newly opened Odeon Luxe cinema in London's Leicester Square and includes Alumax integral finger guards in a brown RAL colour finish; a perfect example of how easily the product can blend into the surrounding door frame.

Looking ahead to 2029

It's safe to say (pardon the pun) that we're thrilled with how the last ten years have panned out, especially given that last year was our most successful year to date.  We'll report back in 2029!
