When we first discussed the plans for The Junipers PICU with Devon Partnership, we knew it was an opportunity to work together to create a new state-of-the-art ward. After reviewing their options, Devon Partnership chose to install our full doorset range. We worked closely with them before, during and after installation to ensure all of the doors and locksets were operating to help both patients and staff.

Our anti-barricade bedroom doors with electronic 5-way SOS locksets, give patients the independence to lock and unlock their own bedroom doors
Backed up by our collapsible anti-barricade stop and 5-way staff override system, staff can gain reliable emergency access in just 90 seconds
The doors are finished in a calming aquamarine colour with timber beading and hinge to reduce institutional metal finishing. This helps to create a therapeutic environment designed to aid recovery.

Safety from within the bedroom

Many existing mental health inpatient environments have either a full door or no door at all to the en-suite. This either presents a huge unobserved ligature risk or deprives patients of privacy and dignity in their own bedroom.

The Junipers was built specifically to improve the level of care given to those who needed it most in the area, so it was vital the bedrooms were designed with patients in mind. All bedrooms are therefore fitted with our en-suite doors and full-door ligature alarm.

The Junipers includes en-suite doors with our beach scene print and plain green leaves to create a more personalised feel
Our full-door alarm intelligently detects any abnormal loads or ligature attempts made across the entire bedroom door - alerting staff to patients who may require additional care in between observations
