The school initially requested 20 integral finger guards as part of an extension built offsite by Portakabin in 2014, and loved our finger guards so much that they later decided to replace all of their cracked plastic finger guards with our retrofit option, installing 80 of our finger guards in total.
Designing out the problem of trapped fingers, our integral finger guards met the trust's requirements of superior finger safety.
Plus the discrete design and sleek aluminum finish blended seamlessly into the environment.
They were so happy with the quality and sleek aluminum finish that, the following year, they ordered 80 retrofit surface-mounted finger guards for the existing building, to replace ineffectual and costly plastic guards.
A finger guard for every project
With a patented finger ejection system, the retrofit finger guards offered superior finger safety whilst also providing durability as the polyurethane-backed fabric withstands knocks in high traffic environments.
Together, the integral and retrofit finger guards complemented each other perfectly, linking the existing building with the new extension, ensuring a continuous aluminum finish throughout.
Having grown frustrated with the lack of durability with plastic finger guards, Caerphilly Local Education Authority requested our integral finger guards. The discrete design blended seamlessly with the school environment whilst also increasing durability.
The new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary opened in late 2017, with 344 single-bed rooms. Our clever finger-ejecting guards were used on automatic doors throughout to comply with BS7036 and on all hinged doors in the paediatric ward to keep little fingers safe.
At the heart of their refurbishment process, Sheffield Children’s Hospital wanted to seamlessly balance safety with homeliness, creating a non-institutional environment for children of all ages. Naturally, the Trust chose to install our integral finger guards (Alumax).
