Safehinge has defined the new best practice in finger protection for doors: integrated into the doorset, our solution eliminates the need for unsightly retrofit hinge guards.

Designers and specifiers are well aware of the challenges of selecting durable products that are fit-for-purpose in the tough environments that education and healthcare facilities present. A number of retrofit solutions are used in these environments, but facilities managers and users report problems ranging from poor durability of plastic hinge guards (with failure typically occurring in 6-24 months) to the poor levels of protection provided by flexible hinge guards. These products are therefore not fit-for-purpose.

By promoting Safehinge as the new best practice, designers and specifiers can offer substantial whole life cost savings to their client, around £500 per door on maintenance costs when compared to retrofit hinge guards over the 25 year life of a building.

Specifying the Safehinge system is simple, all you need to do is note which doors require Safehinge's integrated finger protection on your door or ironmongery schedule and most door manufacturers or architectural ironmongers will be able to take it from there.
