"Before Safehinge, we used plastic hinge covers in our primary and SEN schools.
These hinge covers look awful and tend to fail within 6-24 months leading to expensive whole life costs."

Hinge Covers
Hinge covers are useful products which fit onto existing doors to mask the gap at the hinge and prevent finger trapping accidents. The problem is these products are best suited to the domestic environment and in commercial buildings tend to be vulnerable to high frequency use and, on occassion, deliberate abuse.
The result can be that hinge covers are damaged frequently and require replacing on a regular basis. If broken covers are not replaced, they can cause a hazard in their own right with dangerous sharp edges and cracks. The need to repeatedly replace results in a significant whole life cost being associated with hinge covers.
